Estonian startup Roleo, which builds what it calls a personal AI career agent for technology professionals, has raised EUR 2.9 million, EU-Startups reports. The round was led by Baltic venture capital firm Practica Capital, with participation from Nordic investor Inventure, taking Roleo's total funding to date to EUR 3.46 million.
Founded in 2025 by Janer Gorohhov, a co-founder of the identity-verification company Veriff, and Vahur Hansen, an early engineer at Wise and co-founder of the startup Membo, Roleo aims to help technology professionals discover career opportunities without constantly searching and applying for jobs. The service learns about a user's experience, ambitions and preferences, and connects them directly with employers when there is mutual interest, according to EU-Startups.
We believe everyone should have a personal active career agent that understands what they want, keeps an eye on the market
, said Gorohhov, Roleo's co-founder and chief executive. EU-Startups reports that, since early 2026, the Roleo agent has put 30,000 career leads in front of users who explored them further, and that the service stays free for professionals, with users already drawn from companies such as Google, Amazon, Stripe and Spotify.
Practica Capital partner Donatas Keras said the firm backed Roleo because of its founders' operational experience and a clear short-term plan combined with a long-term vision. EU-Startups places the round alongside seven other recent European raises in AI-powered recruitment and workforce technology, together totalling about EUR 90.5 million, and says the new money will fund Roleo's expansion across European markets and further product development.

What this means for an Estonian entrepreneur
An Estonian startup closing a funding round with outside venture investors, as Roleo has just done with Practica Capital and Inventure, needs its shareholder agreement, share issue and commercial register filings updated at the same time as the investor negotiations close, so the EUR 2.9 million in new capital and the resulting ownership changes are properly registered from day one.
