Estonia's industrial output in August 2026 was 4.5% above the level of August 2025, Trade with Estonia reports, citing Statistics Estonia. Mining, energy and manufacturing all produced more than a year before, although manufacturing itself grew by only 1.2%.
The stronger figure is in sales abroad. Export sales of manufacturers were 8% higher than a year earlier at current prices, while sales on the home market grew by 3.7%. In the words of the report, Manufacturers sold 66.2% of their August output abroad.
Growth was uneven between branches. Makers of electrical equipment — electric motors, generators and transformers — contributed most, with output up 12.2%. Machinery and equipment and motor vehicles and trailers each grew by about 19%. Food production and wood products, two large branches, produced less than a year before.
It was the second month in a row in which manufacturing output exceeded the level of the previous year.
The figures matter to anyone who plans to trade from Estonia: most of what Estonian manufacturers make is sold to customers in other countries, and a company that sends goods across the customs border of the European Union needs an EORI number before its first shipment.
