Every Estonian company's main facts are public: the commercial register publishes them as open data (RIK, CC BY 4.0). The search above shows them for one company with their dates. This guide says what each fact means and what the law asks of the company. It is general information, not legal or tax advice.
Where the facts come from, and their date
The open data are files the register renews; each fact shown has the date of its file. The annual reports are as at the date of the report file, the company data as at the day of the company file. A report submitted after that date is not yet in it — the register's own card (ariregister.rik.ee) shows the latest state.
Annual report
A private limited company (OÜ) or a public limited company (AS) submits its annual report to the register within six months after the end of its financial year (Commercial Code § 179). For a financial year that is the calendar year, that is 30 June. The data show the period of the latest report and the day it was submitted. If no report for the next period is in the data after its deadline, the report is missing from the data — the reason is not in the register.
Beneficial owners
A company enters its beneficial owners — the natural persons who in the end own or control it — in the register and keeps the data current (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act). The open data show whether beneficial owners are entered; the search shows only how many, never a name.
VAT number
A company receives an Estonian VAT number when the Tax and Customs Board registers it as a taxable person. The register shows the number; whether it is valid for trade with other EU countries today is shown by VIES — the EU VAT number check.
Address and contact person
Every company has its address in the commercial register. A company whose address is abroad must designate a contact person in Estonia to whom documents addressed to the company can be delivered (Commercial Register Act § 24). Many companies at one address usually means an address service.
Sales revenue of 0 euros
The annual report shows the sales revenue of the year. Zero means no sales in that year — for example a company that waits for its activity, or a ready-made company. The company still submits its annual reports.
Profit or loss of the year
When the latest annual report shows sales, the search also names the profit or loss of that year as the company reported it in its income statement. It is the company's own figure from the register; we do not check it, and it says nothing about earlier or later years. A liquidation report is not counted. The report before the latest one is named too, so a one-off year stands out.
What the search adds
For a private or public limited company entered in the register, the search lists the facts that apply, with the service each calls for and its price from our price list — the annual report, the beneficial owners' data, a VAT number, the address and contact person, or the deletion of a company that no longer works. It never says more than the register shows.

Frequently asked questions
What do the register facts of an Estonian company mean?
The commercial register's open data show, with their dates, the VAT number, the annual reports and when they were submitted, whether beneficial owners are entered and the sales revenue of the latest report. A private or public limited company submits its annual report within six months after the end of its financial year (Commercial Code § 179); a company whose address is abroad must designate a contact person in Estonia (Commercial Register Act § 24). The guide Reading an Estonian company's register data explains each fact.
Can I order a service for a company I already own?
Yes. In the order form, type the company's registry code under Ordering for an existing Estonian company: its name, code and VAT number come from the commercial register, the invoice is issued to the company, and you give only your name and email address. The company search fills this in when you order from its result.
